Begrudging Box Drawing Drills
Grrr. Tonight was a night where being responsible took time away from making any art. I didn’t sit down to sketch these until 10:20pm. So that was….um…25 minutes between drawing, snapping a photo, and creating this post. But you know what, it counts! Perfection isn’t what I’m looking for, it’s consistency. So there, universe.

Cloth Fold Studies: Skirts
It’s been 9 days since I last opened Photoshop to practice digital art. In the days of yore (i.e. before this January) that wouldn’t have felt very long at all, but with my *fingers cross* increased drawing habit, I longed to get back into digital after over a week of traditional mediums. Listening to my instincts about what I should focus on each day as been a big part of keeping up this practice, so here we go: more digital painting practice!

A Fairy of Spring
I am channeling some cheery spring energy today! I think this is the first year where I am looking forward to daylight savings time, as it means we are a little closer to nicer weather. This little drawing started as an idea to practice using my Ohuhu markers on color card stock paper. I originally thought I’d do some ivy studies or maybe even simple boxes and cylinders, but instead this was what I went with! The sketch and inking were completed for yesterday’s blog post, so today’s focus was the color.
